Entrance to the North Pennines Summer Wool Event is through the main museum reception.
The Summer Wool Event will be held in a range of outdoor and well ventilated, well spaced, indoor settings within the museum's yurt compound.
Parking is available. Parking marshalls will be on site to direct you. Please note that parking on the roadside outside the museum is prohibited as the road is narrow, fast and winding. To ease pressure on the car park please do consider car sharing and/or, perhaps, arriving after lunch.
Alternative ways to get to the event.
Timetables for local bus services can be found here 🚍. The closest bus stop is outside the museum entrance. Please note that this is a REQUEST STOP ONLY. The return journey must be booked with the driver before alighting at the stop or by telephoning Weardale Motor Services in advance. You can contact Weardale Motor Services here with any timetable queries.
Killhope North of England Lead Mining Museum is at one end of the Weardale Way. Again, to ease pressure on the museum's car park, you might like to consider walking in from one of the neighbouring villages - and perhaps book the bus to return to your car?
Cycle racks are available at the museum
Killhope North of England Lead Mining Museum's accessibility statement can be found here. The Summer Wool Event will be held in the yurt compound which is reached by a short, steep path from the main museum site. The yurt compound has a bark chip surface.
